Cookie Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our website. They help us provide you with a better experience by remembering your preferences and understanding how you use our service.

How We Use Cookies

Essential Cookies

We set two cookies of our own, and only when you try the free demo on our home page. One counts how many tries you have used. The other holds a random id so that, if you open an account afterwards, we can see that the demo led to it. Neither holds anything about you, both expire after 30 days, and neither is shared with anyone. You cannot opt out of them and still use the demo.

Signing in does not use a cookie at all. Your session is kept in your browser's own storage instead, and signing out removes it.

Preferences we remember

A few small settings are kept in your browser's own storage rather than in a cookie: whether the sidebar is collapsed, which tips you have dismissed, and how you like the projects list arranged. They stay on your device and never reach us.

Campaign labels

If a link that brought you here carried campaign labels, such as the name of an ad campaign, we keep the first such labels in your browser's own storage. If it carried none, we keep where you came from instead: the site that linked here, a search engine, or the Facebook or Instagram app. They are sent to us with a free demo run, saved on your account if you open one, and once the next time you use Duskpix signed in, after which they are removed. Either way they expire after 30 days. They describe the link, not you, so we can tell which campaigns and sites lead to accounts, and they are not shared with anyone.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people find Duskpix and which pages are actually useful, so we know what to improve. It tells us things like which pages were visited and whether someone arrived from a search engine or a link. We do not use it for advertising, and it is never used to build a profile of you or to follow you to another website.

Whether we ask first depends on where you are. In the United Kingdom and Europe, Google Analytics is not loaded until you accept: no cookie is set and nothing about your visit is sent to Google. Everywhere else, including Australia, it runs from your first visit, and this page is where you turn it off. If you decline or turn it off, it does not run and we do not ask again on that browser. Your answer is remembered on the device you gave it on, so you may need to give it again on another device or in a private window.

Advertising measurement

We also use Meta’s pixel to see whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead people to try the demo, open an account or buy credits, and Meta may use this to choose who sees our ads. It runs on the same answer as analytics: asked first in the United Kingdom and Europe, on from your first visit everywhere else until you turn it off. Our server also tells Meta when you open an account or pay, so those steps count even if a browser blocks the pixel. Nothing is sent to Meta while it is off, and never your name, email or anything you type.

Changing your mind

You can change your answer at any time, right here. If you turn these cookies off after having turned them on, we remove them from this browser straight away.

Analytics and ad measurement cookies are on in this browser; you have not changed that.

Third-Party Cookies

Google and Meta are the only other companies that set cookies on this site, and only while their tags are on (see above). Each handles that data under its own privacy policy, and it may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States.

Paying takes you to a checkout page our payment provider hosts, on its own domain, which is also where your card details go. It sets its own cookies there, under its own privacy policy. Nothing our payment provider runs is loaded onto our pages.

That is the extent of it. Meta’s pixel is the only advertising tag we carry, and it runs only if you accept.

Managing Cookies

The analytics and advertising cookies described above are controlled by your answer to our banner, which you can change at any time in the section above. Your browser also gives you control over every cookie on your device. Most browsers let you:

  • Delete all cookies from your browser
  • Block all cookies
  • Allow only specific cookies
  • Set your browser to notify you when cookies are sent

Please note that blocking the demo cookie described under Essential Cookies will stop the free demo on our home page from working.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
